Happy New Year 2025!
As we step into the year 2025, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your continued support and collaboration. To reflect on the close of 2024, I would like to pinpoint some key milestones that stand as collective achievements.
The Ministry of Education and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) have renewed their commitment to advancing Mongolia’s education and research excellence by extending the GMIT-GIZ project for another three years.
GMIT has progressed in promoting sustainable development concepts in its academic teaching and research, collaborating with international stakeholders such as UNICEF, AMEP and the Green Building Council. Furthermore, GMIT succeeded in co-hosting the Sustainable Development Goals 2024 Student Olympiad in partnership with the Kazakh-German University and organising the ‘Green Nalaikh - University City’ symposium.
Indeed, another significant highlight would be the GMIT ÖSD Exam Center, as the first international language test center opened in Nalaikh fulfilling the needs of local communities.
GMIT’s creative initiatives resulted in running a STEM summer school in English with the sponsorship of Oyu Tolgoi LLC to inspire young talents in rural areas.
Alongside international accreditation having taken place, GMIT students and faculty members continued their academic excellence, such as presenting best papers in student conferences, earning company scholarship awards and inventing new project ideas. Similarly, GMIT faculties refined their qualifications with doctoral and science doctoral degrees as well as Meritorious in Science distinctions.
Our first Mechatronics and Energy and Electrical Engineering graduates entered labour markets to apply time-tested knowledge into practice.
Finally, GMIT’s presence at the 22nd Asian University Presidents Forum (AUPF) signifies its triumph in local and international arenas, opening up a larger scale of modelling integration of local and international knowledge and expertise. Looking ahead, the newly started construction work of the multifunctional laboratory building will push GMIT’s teaching and research excellence forward.
I believe in teamwork, and so do you. I am incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished in 2024 and look forward to the opportunities offered in 2025. Thank you for trusting in GMIT's dreams and future.
Wishing you and your family a prosperous, healthy, and successful New Year!
