Bayar Duger (MECSS) highlighted the very positive development of the German-Mongolian University over the last six years, and ensured continuous support by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports. Johannes Schneider (German Embassy) addressed the excellent job perspectives of the newly engineers: The Mongolian economy is in urgent need for world-class engineers, and the GMIT study programs are designed to satisfy this demand. The Vice-Chair Board of Governors, Prof. Dr. Peter Schulte, reflected on the tremendous opportunities in the field of engineering. Furthermore, life-long learning and ethical behavior are utterly important for a successful career. Stefan Bienefeld (DAAD) recalled the excellent international education at GMIT, and expressed his best wishes to the graduates.
    
Additional guest of honor was the major of Nalaikh, Radnaabazar Choijinsambuu, as well as high school representatives, and managers of partner companies. Oyu Tolgoi awarded two female GMIT graduates with an invitation to their prestigious training and learning development program. Afterwards, the conferring of Bachelor degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Raw Materials and Process Engineering, and Environmental Engineering took place. The commencement speech was given by Battsengel Gotov (CEO, Mongolia Mining Corporation). Based on well-known German proverbs, he gave advice to the young engineers how to succeed in the professional life. Dulguun Narmandakh provided the commencement speech of the graduates. He highlighted the uniqueness of the GMIT study programs and shared stories about ‘life on GMIT Campus’ in Nalaikh. The Graduation Ceremony was supported by musicians from the Cultural Center Nalaikh, and by the GMIT band ‘Sound Corner’.
