Scholarships

GMIT offers various scholarships to support the future generation of Mongolian engineers. The university is dedicated to ensuring financial accessibility for students from diverse backgrounds. Through ongoing efforts to expand connections with companies and other sponsors, GMIT strives to provide a wide range of scholarships for students.

Currently, students can benefit from the following types of scholarships and financial assistance:

  • GMIT scholarship
  • DAAD scholarship
  • Government education loan
  • Government financial aid

The GMIT scholarship program includes full and partial tuition waivers. Eligible students from the Basic Engineering Program (BEP) and bachelor’s programs can apply for this scholarship, starting from their second semester. The scholarship is available each semester and comprises four categories:

  1. Excellent Student Scholarships (full and partial tuition waivers)
  2. Scholarships based on academic excellence and extracurricular activities (full and partial tuition waivers) - the top 20% of GMIT students are invited to apply
  3. Leadership Scholarships (full tuition waivers for two students) - criteria include minimum GPA of 2.0, involvement in extracurricular and volunteer activities, and demonstration of leadership qualities such as integrity, honesty, positive attitude, school spirit, and teamwork skills
  4. Scholarships for Dependents of Staff at GMIT (partial tuition waivers) - applicants must meet specific criteria like low family income, having multiple siblings, family disabilities, or orphan status; supporting documents and an interview are mandatory.

The Scholarship Committee will announce the application deadline before the start of each semester. Required documents include a CV/resume and a scholarship form.

The DAAD scholarship covers a tuition fee payment of EUR 2,500 for the academic year and a monthly allowance of EUR 200 for living expenses. This scholarship is open to all bachelor students at GMIT and new bachelor enrollees.

Criteria for the DAAD scholarship include excellent academic performance (minimum GPA of 2.0 for current GMIT students or Entrance score for new students) and involvement in extracurricular activities. The application period typically begins in mid-April each year. Required documents consist of a CV/resume and a scholarship form.
