Joint Accreditation Expert Team from ASIIN and MNCEA Visits GMIT
From November 21 to 23, 2024, a joint expert team from ASIIN (Germany) and the Mongolian National Council for Educational Accreditation (MNCEA) visited the German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology (GMIT) to evaluate and accredit its study programs.
In 2019, GMIT’s four bachelor's programs were accredited for five years by ACQUIN, a European accreditation body. This time, seven bachelor's programs—Bachelor in Raw Materials and Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Energy and Electrical Engineering, as well as the Master of Science in Resources and Technology—are under review by the international expert team.
The team held meetings with GMIT’s management, program coordinators, professors, students, the Student Council, graduates and industrial partners. They also analyzed documents and visited the university’s laboratories, library, and dormitories to assess the overall learning environment. This accreditation process provides GMIT graduates with greater opportunities, allowing them to pursue further studies abroad, work with leading international companies, and engage in research and projects worldwide.
The accreditation process is supported by the “GMIT IV” project, funded by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on behalf of Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
