Sharing Experiences on STEM Education with Teachers from Umnogobi Province
On November 1, 2024, a scientific and practical conference for teachers from the German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology took place in Dalanzadgad, Umnogobi Province. The focus of this conference was on "Methods for Integrating STEM Education into General Secondary School Curricula." The Education Department of Umnogobi Province co-organized and supported this event.
Professors from the German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology, the National University of Mongolia, and the Mongolian University of Education participated, along with teachers and researchers from colleges and secondary schools in Gobi-Altai and Umnogobi provinces. They shared their knowledge and experiences related to STEM programs. Discussions included successful practices from other countries that have implemented STEM in not only high schools but also in primary and middle schools. Participants explored ways to engage students in STEM classes and improve teaching methods for the new generation of learners. The conference began with a plenary session in the morning, followed by a seminar for English teachers and a specialized session titled "STEM and English" in the afternoon. This session aimed to strengthen the connections between natural science classes and provided opportunities to share experiences on integrating STEM content into teaching.
This scientific and practical conference for teachers has now been held for the 11th time and has previously collaborated with Education Departments in Khuvsgul, Orkhon, Darkhan-Uul, Bulgan, Dornod, Khovd provinces, and the Nalaikh district.
