GMIT students achieved success at the “Environmental Engineering” students’ symposium
The 5th students’ symposium on “Environmental Engineering” was held on June 3, 2022 successfully. The annual symposium was co-organized by the School of Applied Science and Engineering of the National University of Mongolia, the German-Mongolian Institute for the Resources and Technology, the School of Agroecology and Business of the Darkhan University of Agriculture, and the Eco Asia EMS.
Additionally, the supporting organizations were the National Committee for Environmental Pollution Reduction, the Government Implementing Agency of Mongolia - Water Authority, the Mongolian Association of Environmental Engineers, and the Clean Air Partnership NGO.
A total of 23 students from the NUM, GMIT, MULS, and NMIT presented oral and wall presentations. Among them, senior students of Environmental Engineering of GMIT presented their speech successfully.
In the oral presentation category, GMIT student, N.Buyanbilig won the 1st place for her presentation on “Long-term characteristics of greenhouse gases in Gobi area, future trends and warming potential” (supervisor G.Gantuya), and T.Bolorchimeg won the 2nd place by her presentation on “Assessment of Land use effects on Tuul River surface water quantity and quality (supervisor Ts. Ariuntuya). Moreover, L. Baigal received an award from a supporting organization for her presentation on “Soil analysis on backfilling rehabilitation with Coal Combustion By-Products (CCBs) for abandoned Small Scale Coal Mines”.
