GMIT staff and students celebrated the World Book Day
The Library, Student Council and Book Club of the German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology organized a World Book Day event for staff, and students.
The guest lecturer of the event was the author and researcher Prof. Dr. B.Enkhbaigali. She introduced her new book “A Book Reader Develops” and answered questions of students during the event. Moreover, cognitive competition “Falling 50 million books” was organized and the winner teams were “Girls’ team with leader M.Anujin” and “Boys’ team with leader Kh.Enkhmanlai”. The winner teams were awarded by present of “Internom bookstore” and “Erdem arvijikh oyu” LLC.
UNESCO has announced 23th April as World book day and writer’s right day in 1995. This day is death day of famous writers M.Servantes and U.Shakespeare; and birthday of Russian writer B.Nabakov. Therefore, UNESCO celebrates this day for respecting writers and publishers; advertising reading of books among people especially among young people; and promoting public reading. Mongolia celebrates World Book Day between April 20th and April 25th, countrywide.
