GMIT will cooperate with the Environmental Department of Ulaanbaatar in the field of rehabilitation
B.Bolortuya, a Head, and J.Batzolboo, a Specialist for subsoil rehabilitation of the Department of Environment and Resources of the Environmental Department of Ulaanbaatar, visited the campus of the German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology (GMIT). The delegations were getting acquainted with the activities of the university’s laboratories, the Prof. Dr. B.Battsengel, Rector, and other representatives of the GMIT discussed further opportunities for cooperation in the field of environment.
During the meeting, they expressed its intention to work with the university to fill the mine pit, crack filling and environmental rehabilitation in the Nalaikh area, and highlighted that there is a possibility to implement joint projects and research in these areas in the near future. Moreover, GMIT introduced the successful projects of the universities in the field of environment and expressed readiness for cooperation on not only creation a filling material by using recycle power plant ash and waste but also measurement of dust and noise pollution, and other research projects together with professors and students of GMIT.
The parties mentioned the importance of cooperating with university researchers and professors to protect the environment through the use of aggregates such as household waste and fly ash from power plants, which are the main sources of pollution in industrial and residential areas.
