GMIT Board of Governors Holds Its First Meeting with the Renewed Composition
By Order No. A/137 of the Minister of Education of Mongolia, dated 12 June 2026, the Mongolian founders' representatives on the Board of Governors of the German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology (GMIT) were renewed.
The newly appointed representatives are:
* Mr. Dendev Terbishdagva– Advisor to the Prime Minister of Mongolia;
* Mr. B. Tumendelger– Head of the Higher and Vocational Education Policy Department, Ministry of Education;
* Mrs. G. Battungalag– Director of the Europe Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Board of Governors held its first meeting with the renewed composition on 8 July 2026. During the meeting, the newly appointed Mongolian founders' representatives were formally introduced, and the Board discussed its internal organization, including the election of the Chair of the Board and the renewal of the Board's subcommittee memberships.
By majority vote, Mr. Dendev Terbishdagva was re-elected as Chair of the Board of Governors.
Mr. Terbishdagva currently serves as Advisor to the Prime Minister of Mongolia. He is also Chair of the Mongolia–Germany Parliamentary Group, Chair and Member of the Mongolia–Russia and Mongolia–China Parliamentary Groups, and a Member of the Mongolia–Korea, Mongolia–Japan, and Mongolia–Laos Parliamentary Groups.
He previously served as Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia, Minister of Food and Agriculture, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Federal Republic of Germany, and Member of the Parliament of Mongolia. He brings extensive experience in public administration and international cooperation.
The renewed Board of Governors will continue to strengthen GMIT's governance and strategic development while further advancing academic excellence and fostering international cooperation based on the long-standing partnership between Mongolia and Germany.
