The project "Building Capacity in Mongolian Higher Education Institutions" was successfully implemented
The International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) successfully implemented the "Building Capacity in Mongolian Higher Education Institutions" project from December 2 to 13, 2023. The Ministry of Education and Science of Mongolia, the University of Finance and Economics, the Mongolian University of Education, the German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology and the "Gegee" NGO participated in the project.
During this period, the project team visited higher education and research institutions in Washington, Pittsburgh, and New York, and participated in activities along with short trainings. For example, they got acquainted with the introduction of the IVLP program of the "FHI 360" NGO, which implements the IVLP program in Washington, the "Open" English online training programs of the organization, and the information of the "American higher education" system of the "Education Culture Club" center. Additionally, the team visited George Washington University, George Mason University, Law School, the Education and Cultural Relations Department of the US State Department, and the US Congressional Museum.
They also participated in activities of the University of Pittsburgh's cooperation, university’s structure, development, strategic plan, exchange programs for professors of the International Research Center and foreign student. The project team discussed the experience of Carnegie Mellon University, the Pittsburgh branch of RAND Corporation, which conducts research on public policy and education offered by the State Department, foreign and domestic governments, and companies.
In the last days of the project, the team got acquainted with New York University's campus planning, the building process of green school, academic exchange programs, training, student exchange, UNESCO's policy in the field of education, and the policy adopted to develop Natural Science or eco-schools. They also visited Columbia University and Global Education Center to learn about educational projects, researches, and experience of inter-university cooperation.
