GMIT students involved in Summer program under the guidance of German professors and researchers
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) organized a Summer School for students of the German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology on the specific theme of “Responsible Consumption and Production in the Raw Material Sector - Mining life cycle from exploration to reclamation” from August 26 to 31, 2022 at Mandal Resort in Tsonjin Boldog, Mongolia.
The program, which was canceled for past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic has been organized since 2014, and about 15 students of GMIT involved in each summer school in Freiberg, Germany. Ms. Golroh Ansari-Khah, Program Manager of DAAD, Professor Carsten Drebenstedt, Mr. Sebastian Rossow from TU Bergakademie Freiberg, Dr. Martin Knipertz, Mr. Malte Gizenov, Mr. Georg Stauch, Mr. Dennis Wolf from RWTH Aachen University, Professor Rainer Herd from Brandenburg University of Technology and Dr. T.Narangarav, assistant U.Munkhzaya from GMIT involved in the Summer School.
In accordance with the program, the lecture, seminars and short practice trips related to the mining industry, such as geological exploration trips, remote sensing exploration drone flights, natural resource researchs, practical geophysical works, production and processing during the mining cycle, air pollution control, economic consequences of mining, and ecosystem service evaluation were organized.
