Study of sulfur removal process of coal by using an efficient electrochemical method
The main goal of the project is to decrease sulfur content in coal using electrochemical oxidation process to resolve the problems concerning the environment and technology. Our main coal samples are from ‘’Shivee Ovoo’’, ‘’Baganuur’’, and ‘’Nariin sukhait’’ coal mining companies which are widely used in the energy production of houses and power plants in Mongolia.

THE REASONS FOR THE PROJECT
Sulfur content in coal influences on coal quality and environment during the coal application in energy, coal gasification, and treatment. Therefore, it is crucial issue to decrease sulfur content in coal.
Sulfur forms in coal can be removed using physical, chemical, and biotechnological methods. Conventional physical method decreases coal quality. On the other hand, chemical and electrochemical coal desulfurization methods do not much influence on coal quality.
Furthermore, flotation desulfurization methods are consisted of many steps. Chemical desulfurization methods or hydrodesulphurization processes are not economic efficient.
Therefore, we have to find novel deprezurization method using more facile and environmentally technique.
The approach of our work will be published in domestic and international journals, possibly a patent will be filed and can be further used in practical application.
