New academic year opening ceremony

GMIT Campus, 27.08.2018 The New Year Opening Ceremony of the German Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology 2018-2019 was held today.

In addition to the teachers and students of the school, Specialist in Development Policy and Planning Department of the Ministry of Education, D.Bayar, Culture and Science, First Secretary of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany and Head of Development Cooperation Division, Dr. Christian Glas, Ambassador and Plenipotentiary of Oyu Tolgoi LLC, G.Batsukh, representatives of the German International Cooperation Association (GIZ) and business and industry representatives visited at GMIT New Year opening ceremony.

The highlight of this event was the scholarship award ceremony for outstanding students of GMIT. The top 20 students will be studying at the university with 100% scholarship and stipend from GIZ for living expenses. Also, the 3rd year students B.Sanchirgarav, Ts.Suvd-Erdene, M.Shine-Od, N.Turtsetseg, B.Zolboo received a certificate of scholarship for the fall of 2018/2019 of Freiberg University of Technology. These scholarships from the GIZ are the German government grants.


In addition, a total of 22 students from BEP course awarded to 100% and 50% scholarship of tuition for this academic year. Students of GMIT also get a scholarships from partner companies in addition to this government-funded grants.

Each year, the scholarships are awarded to the students to have summer training in abroad. The Summer School of 2018 was attended by 6 students of GMIT and 15 students and 2 teachers participated in the 14-day summer course in Freiberg visited to the mining sectors and experience with a culture of Germany.
