High ranking visitor at GMIT

GMIT Campus, Nalaikh, 31.05.2018 GMIT welcomed a high profile delegation from Germany

On May 30, 2018, State Secretary Oliver Wittke of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany visited GMIT, accompanied by a delegation. State Secretary Wittle expressed his delight on GMIT achievements and concluded that German investments on GMIT were “well-spent”. He was also deeply impressed by the innovative concept on clean air, a “Glean project” and its potential to improve ambient air quality on a large scale level, a project designed by Prof. Gunther Stehr, Dean of Faculty of Engineering.

State Secretary Wittke met with the Student Council, asking about their motivations to select GMIT and their future expectations. The students highly valued GMIT‘s tough study programs and challenging tests. Summer school programs at German partner universities and internship opportunities at some of the most prominent mining companies in Mongolia, like OT, expand their experiences a lot, they said. Apart from studying, different club activities and campus part-time jobs also help them to grow. In overall, students and State Secretary Wittke came to the conclusion that GMIT is a model university for studying engineering in Mongolia.

On behalf of GMIT family, we are always grateful to show how solid we are growing as a competent university of world-class, especially to our German friends who initiated and supported wholeheartedly our establishment on the first place.
