German Professor represented GMIT Mongolia on the United Nations UNCTAD Conference
08.05.2018 Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter Vossen (Ph.D.), Professor of Raw Materials and Process Engineering at the German-Mongolia Institute for Resources and Technology (GMIT) participated at the “Building Skills for Sustainable Development” of the United Nations - UNCTAD - in Geneva, Switzerland.
As speaker in the 5th session “Changing Skill Requirements in the Mining Sector”, Prof. Vossen presented in one of three national case-studies how GMIT operates in Mongolia as a moderating link between government and the mineral industrial sector. Prof. Vossen interpreted one of GMIT’s roles in Mongolia to close gaps regarding the missing skills of managers, employees and contractors of the mining industry in the future. The international community of renowned scientists got a deeper understanding about the demand of the Mongolian Mining Sector towards future engineers.
