GMIT campus (Nalaikh district)

TEDxGMIT is an event organized by industrial engineering students of GMIT. TED is an annual event that brings together the world’s leading thinkers and doers to share ideas that matter in any discipline — technology, entertainment, design, science, humanities, business, development. A TEDx event is a local gathering where live TED-like talks and videos previously recorded at TED conferences are shared with the community. TEDx events are fully planned and coordinated independently, on a community-by-community basis. The content and design of each TEDx event is unique and developed independently, but all of them have features in common.

The event will have 6 speakers from different fields and will be held on 17th of the March, 2019. The main theme TEDxGMIT will be “Mosaic”. It will be covering topics focused personal development from different angles such as Agricultural education in countrysides with an emphasis on sustainable environment, exponentially rising technology and its effect on the economy of the future, the brain’s extraordinary ability to memorize and analyze.

Mosaic is an ancient form of art practiced as early as 3000 BC in Mesopotamia. By combining small stones of various colors into a single piece of art, people were able to convey a poignant message. This concept of combining different and little pieces to create something bigger fits the goal of reaching the audience through the use of different ideas.

GMIT organizes workshops on a wide range of topics for faculties and adult learners by both internal and external speakers to discuss important issues of teaching, research and professional development.
